Relationship Focused Therapy in the Napa Valley

About

Individuals | Couples | Family | Women's Counseling

Hello and welcome. If you are looking for help dealing with overwhelming emotions, relationship difficulties, or challenging life transitions, I'm glad you have found my website. I am a warm, active and direct therapist who specializes in working with individuals, couples and families seeking meaningful and lasting change in their lives.

Therapy is an opportunity to make sense and heal from past experiences and learn new ways of being in the world- both with yourself and in relationships.

My goal is to support, encourage and also challenge my clients to create a life of greater ease, fulfillment and meaning. Please take some time to look over this site to get a sense of who I am and how I work. If you think I might be someone you would feel comfortable working with, I would love to hear from you. My hope for you is to heal, grow and thrive.

Warmly,

The EWT Team

CATHIE GORDON, LMFT, LPCC

Therapist and Founder of Empathy Works Therapy

Certified EMDR Therapist and Consultant,

Certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist (EFT)

I help couples and individuals create greater safety within their relationships and deepen their emotional bonds with loved ones. I especially love working with women with mid-life concerns and supporting parents navigating the challenges of raising children.

I believe in the healing power of relationship. We are hurt in relationship and we heal in relationship.

Clients tell me I am a warm and compassionate therapist. I believe we are are stronger than we know.

JENNY PEREZ, LCSW

Therapist

I help individuals and couples realize a fuller potential.

Through a safe therapeutic relationship I help clients share their thoughts and feelings in ways that serve and enhance their well-being.

I believe that human beings are programmed to be socially interconnected; We naturally seek togetherness, crave closeness and intimacy. Sometimes the world around us and/or the world within us can block us from getting our needs met.

This is the goal of therapy; To help us regain our connections to self, others and the world around us.

BRIANA SOLADAY, LMFT, C-IAYT

Therapist

I help individuals (adults and elders) and couples.

I especially enjoy working with issues like finding meaningful vocation and expression of potential.

I love sharing tools to soothe anxiety, lighten depression and re-pattern maladaptive habits (like ruminating in anger or worry).

I have a deep well of experience and a calling for working with trauma, grief, and PTSD.

I also enjoy supporting couples in developing understanding and improved connection in wounded relationships.

Individuals, couples, and teens come to me for a variety of reasons, but they all share a common goal: they want to make a change in their lives. Sometimes the coping mechanisms that worked for us in the past are no longer effective. This can lead to problems in our relationships, our careers and our emotional state.

I believe that psychotherapy is a collaborative process between therapist and client. The relationship we build is the foundation for successful therapy. We will work to create a curious, compassionate, and respectful partnership where we can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences.

Together we can heal past wounds, repair relationships, overcome disappointment, and create a life you are grateful for.
